Five structured pathways designed to take individuals and communities from the pain of the past to the possibility of a reconciled future.
All programs are grounded in faith-based reconciliation principles, trauma-informed facilitation, and community-led transformation.
The centerpiece of PCHR's work, these multi-day facilitated retreats provide a safe, structured, and confidential space for individuals to begin or deepen their healing journey. Participants engage in guided personal reflection, facilitated group dialogue, and reconciliation processes.
Led by trained PCHR facilitators, the retreats integrate biblical principles of repentance, forgiveness, lament, and hope with psychosocial support frameworks to address trauma holistically — spirit, soul, and body.
Also known as "Journey from the Inside Out," this structured course takes participants through six interconnected dimensions of reconciliation: Understanding Reconciliation, Repentance, Forgiveness, Renewing the Inner Life, Restoring Relationships, and Revitalizing Communities.
Each module builds upon the last, helping participants move progressively from inward healing to outward transformation. The course is delivered in small groups with trained facilitators and combines teaching, reflection, and guided practice.
Designed for community leaders, church pastors, and program graduates who want to multiply the impact of reconciliation in their communities, this advanced course equips participants with the skills and frameworks to lead reconciliation processes themselves.
Core competencies covered include: conflict analysis, adaptive communication, mediation and facilitation techniques, trauma awareness, and strategies for building sustainable peace at community level.
Working in partnership with local churches and community-based organizations, PCHR facilitates regular trauma healing groups that provide ongoing psychosocial and spiritual support for individuals still processing the effects of the Genocide and other traumatic experiences.
These groups are facilitated by trained local leaders — often church members or community health workers — who have themselves been equipped through PCHR's capacity-building programs, ensuring sustainability and local ownership.
These facilitated community forums create structured dialogue platforms for addressing real-life tensions, grievances, and divisions at the local level. Unlike retreats, forums are embedded in the community context and address specific relational or social issues that communities identify.
Forums often bring together diverse community members — survivors, ex-prisoners, local leaders, youth — and guide them through structured processes of truth-telling, acknowledgement, and shared commitment to a peaceful future.
